Should You Try CBD Shampoo? Let's Discuss!

CBD has become synonymous with relaxation. Add it to your coffee or make a cocktail and chill for an hour (or more) in the bath. Or just add it straight to the bathroom routine. Let's talk CBD shampoo.

What is it?

CBD shampoos are defined as shampoos made from hemp oil, which contains essential ingredients that promote hair growth. These formulations contain fatty acids such as omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, which stimulate hair production. Fatty acids stimulate the formation of keratin, which restores the strength and promotes the growth of hair. Essentially, CBD promotes strong and healthy hair through hemp oils which provide nourishment through its natural ingredients which have plenty of other uses as well.

Because of the many CBD health benefits, cannabidiol has recently become an extremely popular remedy used for a number of common ailments. Commonly known as CBD, it’s made up of one of the hundreds of chemical compounds, called cannabinoids, that are found in the cannabis plant.

While tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is the most widely known psychoactive cannabinoid from the cannabis plant, CBD is not psychoactive. This means that CBD will not give users the same sensation of getting “high” as those that use THC, which is commonly associated with marijuana.

CBD is known for its soothing effects on nearly everything it touches, while CBD shampoo is relatively new in the world of CBD, it has been tested for multiple other benefits ranging from pain relief to calming the central nervous system. In terms of shampoo, CBD will help build and maintain a healthy scalp which will in turn will promote the growth of healthy and happy hair.

Why should you consider using it?

I would strongly consider the use of CBD shampoo because there are little to no negative side effects. When comparing CBD shampoo to other kinds of brand name shampoo there is a clear difference in the ingredients used to obtain the results the shampoos advertise. While most brand name shampoos offer hydration, frizz control and other benefits most of the ingredients within these products are far from natural remedies. Most of these shampoos contain detergent like properties which while they may be effective they really aren't taking proper care of your hair and scalp.

The major difference between typical shampoo and CBD shampoo is how they are produced. Most shampoos contain far from natural ingredients to achieve their “hair care” niche. On the other hand, CBD shampoo is derived from hemp oils which are naturally rich with nutrients and minerals that are far from the chemicals found in most shampoos on store shelves today.

In terms of overall health, the average consumer tends to want to seek out healthy alternatives from food to drinks and other vitamins. However, just because shampoo is not ingested does not mean that using harmful chemicals on the hair and scalp is any worse than eating and drinking unhealthy foods. The body is a magical instrument that absorbs everything we expose it to. The better the body is treated and cared for the better we feel, when considering hair care products think of them in the same category as diet and exercise. A better understanding of the products we use to take care of our bodies means better long term health. As they say, health is wealth.

I few products I would recommend are the Don’t Be Sad CBD Oil to help with my daily nutrition, Don’t Be Sad Full Spectrum Vegan Gummies which really help me chill out after a long day, and the Topical Roll-on Gel which helps to allow targeted relief with any aches and pains in my muscles.

CBD Shampoo is becoming more popular and the great thing is you can make your own with ease. Gather coconut milk, castile soap, CBD oil, your favorite essential oils and you are ready to go!

  2. Shake well to mix.
